Preparing an intensive strategy in 2015 focusing on top-quality content
Investing heavily in the most modern broadcasting technologies in the region
Triple V Broadcast Co., Ltd., the operator of Thairath TV Channel 3/32/42, organizes the press conference on Thairath TV’s business direction in 2015 with the highlight of more intensive content including news, variety, live sports as well as marketing activities across the country consistently. The company plans
to invest in building the 13-floor Broadcasting Complexwithin Thairath headquarters with Virtual Studio system, Robotic operation room and Media Asset Management system that is the most modern in the region. The press conference was held on the 4th floor, Building 12, Thairath TV, Vipavadeerangsit Road on Thursday October 30th, 2014.
Jitsupa Vacharaphol, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officerof Triple V Broadcast Co., Ltd., the operator of Thairath TV Channel 3/32/42, revealed that “6 Months after the launch of Thairath TV, we have received very good feedbacks both from the viewers and our business partners. We have been positioned as the leader in Variety HD channels since the first month of the launch of the channel. We are very confident that we will achieve our income target of 500 million baht within this year”.
On the business plan in 2015, Thairath TV is planning to go forward with the increment of revenue from 1.2 to 1.5 billion baht following an improving trend and the reactions of the sponsors. On the news side since the launch of the channel, there are several international news stations interested in buying content and pictures from Thairath TV consistently. The company is very focus on strong content news in 2014 which has been very successful. In 2015, there is a plan to use creative in making news that majority of the viewers are interested in or benefits to the society mixed with modern technologies to ensure that the news are presented in the most understanding way including the use of Immersive Graphic technology that has been talk of the town since the launch which makes Thairath TV accepted to be the most interesting tv channel in terms of graphic technology in news reporting similar to leading international new channels. Furthermore, there is alsoan enhancement of the network to cover remote areas with full range of equipment from satellite vans to Man pack machine to make every news field similar to the news room.
For the entertainment variety content, we plan to add more content intensity as well as the news programs while maintaining the same proportion of programs at 50% news&knowledge and 50% entertainment variety with the addition of game shows, series, and reality programs with the highlights including “Time Hunter”, the first game show in Thailand that rewards the participants with “Time”, “UGLY BETTY THAILAND” that is the first format series of the station from the series that has been successful around
the world, BBC documentaries, Chinese series “Pao Boon Jin” that will be broadcasted in HD system or even the live broadcasting of the Barclays Premier League.
Moreover, in the year 2015, Thairath TV also plan to launch the project Connected TV in the first quarter to follow the first year that we make Game Show Social, the tv program which allows viewers to join the game through the 2ndScreen including mobile phones, tablets, or computer screens with the total of 60,000downloads with the number of participants growing at 60% per day comparing to the first day. There will also be the launch of the channel’s Application to serve viewers’ second screen behavior in the first quarter of next year.
In addition, there will also be an investment in building a 13-floor Broadcasting Complex within Thairath headquarters with the broadcasting room in Virtual Studiosystem, Robotic system in the control room, and the use of Media Asset Managementsystem that is the most modern in the region to enhance the quality of the in-house production and to create signature programs for Thairath TV. Mean while, there is also a plan to reach broader range of viewers from the age range of 25-40 years old today to the younger generation aged 15-30 years old as well as the addition of content delivery platform that serve viewers through partner channels eg. airlines and public transportations.
For the marketing strategy, next year, Thairath TV prepares continuous campaigns to follow this year success such as Chao Arn Sib Yen YibSaen – Year 2, the activity to turn Thairath newspaper readers into Thairath TV viewers by cutting a piece from the newspaper and send in for lucky draws on daily basis. which received very good feedback from the viewers with 1 million Thairath Newspaper Logo pieces within 1 month from the target of only 100,000 pieces.The winners are announced live during Thairath TV news show resulting in an explosion of rating for Thairath TV News Show as the highest rating program. This has also taken Thairath TV to the summit of Variety HD channel stations since its launch month.
Furthermore, there is also the campaign “Caravan Thairath TV Giving Away Big Prizes – Year 2” which travels to more than 15 provinces across the country and gives away 32 inches digital TV which is the same number as the channel 32 for people in local markets, communities, famous shops, and Thairath newspaper agents in each of the region as well as conducting research in order to further develop the quality of the channel to match with the requirement of the viewers.
There will also be the launch of the new projects to support the vision “Understandably Difference” in 2015 such as “THE TV BATTLE THAILAND”– the idea contest by Thai people across the country, as we believe that “Thai TV program should come from the ideas of Thai people”, or holding “THAIRATH EXPO” for the first time in 60 years to showcase the potential of Thairath through several media.
Finally, there is also the selling strategy of “Cross Media Package” for all the media channels under Thairath’s media portfolio including Thairath Newspaper, Thairath Online, and Thairath TV for sponsors who are interested in making their brand reaching target customers effectively through our medias (Power of Reach)”.
