TEAM Thailand Joins the 2nd APWS on 14th -20th May 2013

TEAM Thailand Joint Venture participated in the seminar and exhibition of the 2^nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit (2^nd APWS) which was entitled “Water Security and Water-related Disaster Challenges: Leadership and Commitment” hosted by Thailand on 14 – 20 May 2013. The event was held at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre Commemorating His Majesty’s 7^th Cycle Birthday Anniversary in Chiang Mai and comprised a Leaders’ Forum, Focus Area Sessions, Technical Workshops, and Exhibitions.

TEAM Thailand Joint Venture is a consortium which consists of eight Thai-registered firms led by CH. Karnchang PCL. Other affiliates are CH. Karnchang (Lao) Co., Ltd., TEAM Consulting Engineering and Management Co., Ltd., Christiani & Nielsen (Thai) PCL., Ch. Tavee Construction Co., Ltd., Sermsanguan Construction Co., Ltd., Tipakorn Co., Ltd. and Rojsin Construction Co., Ltd. They presented their expertise in water management through the exhibition in the 2^nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS). The exhibition aims to present the Royal Initiatives of His Majesty the King of Thailand as best practices for sustainable water resources management and to create public awareness of water issues in a wider circle.

 

The Exhibition was opened on 14 May 2013 by Dr. Plodprasop Suraswadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Water and Flood Management Commission, and on 20 May, Prime Minister Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra delivered a speech on water situation in Thailand, opened the 2^nd APWS, and gave a special lecture on “Disaster and Response: Thailand’s Action and Commitment to Water and Flood Management for the Future”. The Prime Minister then viewed the exhibition and signed a blessing to His Majesty the King at the pavilion of TEAM Thailand Joint Venture, where she was welcomed by Mr. Watchara Sanghattawattana, Executive Vice President of CH. Karnchang, and Mr. Chawalit Chantararat, Managing Director of TEAM GROUP.
