PATTAYA, Thailand – October 10, 2013 In celebration of Hilton Worldwide’s second annual Global Week of Service, October 6 – 12, more than 120 volunteers from Hilton Pattaya have planned to support underprivileged children in Pattaya through three local foundations – The Father Ray Foundation, The Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities (Mahatai) and the Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC).

Hilton Pattaya will extend its unique brand of hospitality where volunteers will not only organize fun games with gifts for the kids but also create ‘Hilton Moments’ sessions to engage and train the children in hospitality skills and tasks. These include a DIY bakery and Thai dessert session, a mixology and juggling showcase, a day at Hilton Front Desk and Housekeeping and a talk with Hilton Pattaya’s F&B gurus, to name a few. Apart from supporting the social development and well-being of Pattaya’s community, this service project enables team members at Hilton Pattaya to share their skills, resources and passion with children in need, and provide them the opportunity to learn more about a hotel’s operations, as well as useful tips they can apply to their daily lives.

Community service is a tradition embedded in Hilton Worldwide’s culture, and acts of volunteerism occur year-round across ten distinct brands and 4,000 properties. Hilton Pattaya’s efforts are a part of Hilton Worldwide’s week-long celebration of the company’s commitment to serving the communities where we live, work and travel, which this year includes hundreds of hands-on service projects globally.

“We are delighted to take the lead on this community project and support Hilton Worldwide’s Global Week of Service. Every day, our team members come up with great ideas to make this a special and memorable week with the kids and as Hilton ambassadors, we’ll try our best to be their ‘sunshine’ at the three foundations,“ said Montree Sattham, director of human resources at Hilton Pattaya. “Our team is pleased to collaborate with The Father Ray Foundation, The Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities (Mahatai) and the Child Protection and Development Center in Pattaya, as our hotel’s key community partners for 2013.”

“We would like thank Hilton, for seeing it as a crucial factor to extend a helping hand to the community. It’ll be another great milestone in Pattaya,“ said Rachada Chomjinda, director of Human Help Network Thailand (HHN), which runs the CPDC in Pattaya.

“We are really proud to have Hilton Pattaya volunteers support our foundation, and  I am sure that both the hotel team and the beneficiaries of the foundation will benefit immensely from this interaction, which could possibly lead to more interactions thereafter,”  said Fr. Peter Pattarapong Srivorakul, C.Ss.R. president and director of Father Ray Day Care Center.

Global Week of Service is Hilton Worldwide’s largest annual volunteer service initiative and brings together team members from across Hilton Worldwide’s corporate offices and hotel properties, helping to strengthen the company’s connections with its communities and bringing it closer together as a global team. In 2012, during Hilton Worldwide’s inaugural Global Week of Service, team members at more than 600 properties and offices completed more than 800 volunteer projects in 401 cities across the company’s global footprint. The projects focused on engaging team members and delivering on Hilton Worldwide’s commitment to Travel with Purpose by creating opportunitiesstrengthening communitiescelebrating cultures and living sustainably. This year, the company aims to build upon this community engagement and is striving to complete more than 1,200 service projects.
