T.R.Y. Partnership to Empower and Engage T.R.Y. accessories partners with Design Up Asia to help marginalised women get back into the mainstream through education and empowerment

Singapore, Sept 19, 2013 – (ACN Newswire) – Bespoke fashion accessories and custom jewellery retailer, T.R.Y. accessories is partnering with social enterprise, Design Up Asia, to help marginalized women develop meaningful skills and provide flexible employment so that they can look after their children from home.

T.R.Y. accessories empowers the career woman or the sassy, modern mum with fashion accessories and custom jewellery that invigorates and “jazzes” up the wardrobe. The power to look, feel good and be creative are the core emotions that define T.R.Y. accessories.

The fight to re-integrate marginalized women into society is deeper than finding them work. It is about building their confidence, self-esteem and enabling them to learn a new skill that will give them a chance at making a living from a meaningful endeavour.

As part of its launch programme, T.R.Y. accessories will support Design Up Asia in its cause by promoting and encouraging customers, clients and partners to enquire and empower through engagement.

Empowering and giving access to a quality of life to women is a key philosophy that drives T.R.Y. accessories.

“Through this partnership, we enable marginalized women – women that society has left behind to get back up and fend for themselves by supporting their learning of a craft that allows them to trade, profit and more importantly engage in meaningful enterprise. By engaging with these women we help them with their self-esteem, sense of empowerment and support their growth and re-integration into society,” explained Humi Yoshikawa, fashion doyen and founding partner, T.R.Y. accessories.

T.R.Y. accessories’ partnership with Design Up Asia is the first of its kind with more partnerships in store.

From the Heart

“When I first heard about the cause for marginalized women, I knew that this was the one thing that we had to support. Empowering women is our mantra and I know our customers will support us completely in this engagement with Design Up Asia,” explained Judy Ng, co-founder and managing director, T.R.Y. accessories.

Design Up Asia founded in 2013, supports marginalized women in Singapore. The idea was started after the founders emerged winners in UP Singapore Hackathon organised by Newton Circus and The Arthur Guinness Fund. The essence of Design Up Asia lies in its cause to help single mothers provide for their families whilst providing desirable jewellery.
