SCG expects its business to grow up by 5% in 2010

BANGKOK, 20 January 2010 (NNT) – The Siam Cement Group (SCG) Plc has expressed its belief in its rising sales by 5% in 2010 mainly resulting from the Thai economic recovery.

SCG President and CEO Kan Trakullhoon expected that the Thai economy was gradually recovering from 2009 based on the Thai Industries Sentiment Index (TISI) which has been continuously increasing each month.

Therefore, the cement sales of the SCG this year is expected to expand by 5% year-on-year due to better price adjustment of construction materials in the fourth quarter last year and paper export business growth in line with the national economic recovery.

Nevertheless, Mr Kan admitted that there were still some risk factors that might affect investor confidence, including the fragility of the global economic recovery and domestic political uncertainty.
