Sanoh to withdraw from politics soon

BANGKOK, 4 October 2009 (NNT) – Veteran politician and Pracharaj MP Sanoh Thienthong has announced his intention to withdraw from politics very soon, citing his boredom and despair for the country.

Earlier, former Prime Minister General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh has officially applied for a membership in the opposition Puea Thai Party. Criticisms said this could strengthen the Puea Thai Party to a certain extent, especially in the upcoming general election while some deemed it would be too fast to draw such conclusion.

However, Mr Sanoh declined to make any comment towards this issue. He only commented that the country was presently lawless, and stated that he was waiting for the time to quit form politics. He confirmed that his upcoming withdrawal was not resulted from his health but his boredom with the prevailing situation.
