PTT urges govt to rise NGV price

BANGKOK, 17 September 2009 (NNT) – PTT has encouraged the government to increase the price of NGV in order to reflect real cost since the constant oil price rise has caused the company to shoulder the accumulating burden.

PTT’s Exploration & Production and Gas Business Group Senior Executive Vice President Chitrapongse Kwangsukstith admitted potential obstacles in the NGV gas station extension plan if the government does not increase NGV price to reflect real cost. He said the gas price was rising following the high price of oil.

Nevertheless, the vice president vowed that PTT would go on with its plan to extend more NGV gas stations as targeted. PTT expects to have 400 NGV gas stations within the end of this year while preparing a contingency plan for gas shortage and other problems that may arise.
