By k on March 7, 2010
BANGKOK, 7 March 2010 (NNT) – One bombing suspect involved with the Bangkok Bank grenade attacks has been arrested, according to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajviva.
After finishing his weekly TV program “Confidence in Thailand with Prime Minister Abhisit”, the prime minister stated that the police were interrogating the arrested suspect, who was the motorcycle rider of the instigated bomb incidents last week.
M67 grenades were thrown into four branches of Bangkok Bank. Two of them exploded while one was defused and the other one was found to be dud. In addition, another fake bomb was found at Thanachart Bank. There have been no reports of deaths or injuries
Regarding the recent arrests of Mr Pornwat Thongsomboon, alias “K-Thong”, and pro-Thaksin army specialist Major General Khattiya Sawasdipol, also known as Seh Daeng, Prime Minister Abhisit believed that the matter would not cause violence incitement during the upcoming mass rally of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) on 14 March 2010.
