Oil prices down 50 Satang/liter, citizens hoarding fuel in face of curfew

BANGKOK, 21 May 2010 (NNT) – PTT Plc and Bangchak Petroleum Plc will reduce retail oil prices by 50 Satang per liter across the board, except E85, from 21 May at 05.00 hrs onwards.

Retail oil prices in Bangkok and vicinities will be as follows:

Benzene 91 will be sold at 35.54 THB per liter.

Gasohol 95 will stand at 31.74 THB and Gasohol 91 at 30.24 THB per liter.

E20 will be at 29.44 THB while E85 will remain at 19.92 THB per liter.

Biodiesel B2 will be at 28.59 THB per liter and B5 at 27.39 THB per liter.

According to a recent survey of gas stations in Bangkok, many people residing in the capital city flocked to fill their tanks and stockpile petrol for emergency use after the government declared its curfew prohibiting all residents from leaving their homes from 21.00 to 05.00 hrs until 22 May 2010.
