Ko Samui tourism tends to sparkle during New Year Fest
BANGKOK, 22 December 2009 (NNT) – Tourism in Ko Samui has increased as hotels and resorts in the area have occupancy rates of 80-90% during the New Year.
Mr Ruangnam Jaikwang, the President of the Thai Hotel’s Association – Southern Chapter East Coast, said tourism in Ko Samui in December has improved. Around 80-90% of rooms have been reserved for the new year period. He was still concerned over the political problems which might affect the number of tourists and requested all parties to find the mutual solution for this problem.
He also added that the market segments of honeymoon couples and Korean tourists kept increasing.
