Kittiratt Na Ranong has instructed law officials to file criminal and civil lawsuits against demonstrators who have seized the Finance Ministry’s buildings

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na Ranong has instructed law officials to file criminal and civil lawsuits against demonstrators who have seized the Finance Ministry’s buildings. He also vows to disciplinary and legally punish ministry officials who assisted demonstrators in the seizure.

The order came after the Finance Ministry and the Budget Bureau were besieged by rioters on Monday. Mr. Kittiratt said the episode has caused damage to the Finance Ministry, but added the Budget Bureau can still function despite the seizure thanks to its data backup policies.

Minister Kittiratt said on Tuesday he would send his legal team to press charges against the core members of demonstrations and those involved in the seizure. He said the cutting off of electricity and water from the buildings of the ministry and the Bureau of the Budget has caused malfunctioning to the two agencies’ working system; thus he would file civil lawsuits on those responsible for the attack as well.

Finally, he vowed to take disciplinary and legal actions against the ministry’s officials who had assisted demonstrators in the seizure.
