Japanese investors to meet PM to discuss Map Ta Phut investments

BANGKOK, 18 January 2010 (NNT) – Japanese investors will meet Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to discuss investments in Map Ta Phut’s industrial area tomorrow.

Mr Abhisit stated that Japanese investors will tomorrow discuss investments in the Map Ta Phut area of the Rayong province. Speaking over the committee set for monitoring the Health Impact Assessment for the investment projects in Map Ta Phut, Mr Abhisit said that the assessment must be done thoroughly as each project has different details. However, he said that everything will be under the regulations, adding that the private sector can propose ideas to speed up the process.

Mr Abhisit said that it was difficult to assess the damage on Map Ta Phut impasse, adding that the court’s ruling will be based on national interests.
