ISA remains in Dusit area

BANGKOK, 30 August 2009 (NNT) – The Internal Security Act (ISA) was maintained in the Dusit areas despite the postponement of the anti-government rally as an effort to prevent the demonstrators from gathering.

Since last night until now, no gatherings of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) had been seen at Sanam Luang. Security authorities still remained stationed at various important sites especially at the Government House.

Meanwhile, around the King Rama 5 statue, there were no signs of a UDD rally. It still remains uncertain as to whether minor UDD groups would assemble after the heavy rain stops.
