HP leads the game with new HP Designjet T series and ePrint Technology

Bangkok – 19 January 2011 – HP today unveiled its latest HP Designjet         T series with ePrint technology, including the industry’s most collaborative printer, enabling businesses in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industries – and related enterprises – to easily access, share and print large-format project files online anytime, anywhere. The move coincides with HP’s prediction to grow the large format printer category.

Ms. Margaret Ong, Vice President, Imaging & Printing Group HP Southeast Asia, revealed that as a leader in the printing industry, HP foresees positive growth as Asian economies continue to grow – driven partly by digital information that will live or pass through the cloud by 33% by 2012.

“The move towards all-things mobile signals enormous opportunity for the printing business, with our research indicating that 85% of smart phone users want to be able to print digital content directly from their smart phones or via the web. Cloud Computing technology will also play a key role in terms of transforming business models to serve the needs of users and provide better services. Many new applications are now being developed within the Cloud which will create new business opportunities, which is why HP is pro-actively embracing Cloud Computing for our own printing technology, with ‘ePrint’ services for every segment of customers, from individual consumers up.”

HP is today leading a printing revolution for the AEC industries with the introduction of its new suite of forward-thinking HP Designjet T products that will help drive business acceleration for design professionals in the AEC industries and enterprises that require geographical information, such as map printouts, urban development print illustrations or other forms of large format technical drawings. Importantly, this new line of printers are all web-connected and ePrint-enabled, allowing businesses to access web content from anywhere, anytime wherever business happens. Currently, HP is the number one leader in the technical segment of large format printers, with a market share in Thailand of 81% in technical printing.

Mr. Shaun See, Business Development Manager of Designjet, HP Asia Pacific and Japan said that “With the HP ePrint platform extended to the AEC and enterprise businesses, professionals now can focus on building and executing their ideas, rather than on managing the cumbersome print processes. And in the print service providers segment, we have the HP Designjet Z6200 Photo Printer which is a true workhorse, delivering high speed and productivity on every application, including those that demand the best quality.”
