Government expressed gratitude to foreign countries to help the flood crisis.

The Government has expressed gratitude to several countries for their provision of personnel and donations in support of Thailand’s attempt to assist flood-affected citizens.

Government Spokersperson Thitima Chaisaeng relayed the Government’s appreciation to all nations that had helped Thailand deal with the current flood crisis by donating funds and necessities as well as lending equipment, vehicles and manpower for the rescue of flood victims across the Kingdom. Among those countries are the United States, Japan, New Zealand and China.

Chinese Vice Minister of Water Resources Liu Ning has led a team of experts in water management to Thailand to observe the flood situation in various parts of the country with an aim to collect information for formulating solutions to the flood problem accordingly. Initially, he suggested the Thai government to protect Bangkok from flooding at all costs, divert floodwater into the sea at haste and establish a flood prevention system along the entire Chao Phraya River.
