Labour Minister assigns representatives to provide aid for Thai workers in Indonesia and the Philippines

BANGKOK, 4 October 2009 (NNT) - Mr. Phaithoon Kaeothong, the Labour Minister assigns representatives in Indonesia and Philippines to seek and provide aids for those affected by the quake and the typhoon.
Mr. Phaithoon said he has urged the Thai Ambassadors in Indonesia and Philippines to immediately search for Thai workers who were affected by the typhoon Ketsana and the quake earlier this week and facilitate aid as quickly as possible.
Moreover, the Ministry would allocate some portion from “Strong Thailand” fund to help flood victims in many provinces particularly the workers from the agricultural sector whom would be provided 150 baht emergency allowance per day to slow down labour overflow to Bangkok.
