FTI: Greek crisis not worrying

BANGKOK, 12 May 2010 (NNT) – Mr Payungsak Chartsutipol of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) has asked industrial entrepreneurs not to panic over the Greek crisis because Greece is not a major trade partner of Thailand.

Mr Payungsak said that the private sector is now keeping a close eye on the Greek crisis for fear of the extremely negative impacts to major trade partners in Europe, despite the fact that the import and export sectors of Thailand is still secure during this period of the Greek crisis.

Mr Payungsak elaborated that the European markets for Thai trade include garments, electronic parts, auto-parts, air conditioners and foods.

Also, Thai entrepreneurs should remain wary about investing their money in the stock market where the volatility is high, says Mr Payungsak.
