First H1N1 case confirmed in the north
BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) – A Chiang Mai University student, returning home from US, tested positive to H1N1, the first virus diagnosis reported in Thailand’s northern region.
Her relatives and persons who had close contact with her were placed under quarantine.
Meanwhile, the resort island of Phuket in the south conducted a community-wide mass cleaning on Sunday, disinfecting roads, restaurants, entertainment venues, hotels and guesthouses in the Patong Beach area after a woman working in a pub tested positive to the Influenza A H1N1 virus.
Her condition has improved, but she remains under quarantine for another seven days. Her co-workers don’t contract the virus, according to the lab tests. (TNA
