Energy Ministry to ask Cabinet to consider extending LPG price pegging measure

BANGKOK, 23 June 2010 (NNT) – The Ministry of Energy prepares to propose the cabinet to consider pegging the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) until the end of this year.

Energy Minister Wannarat Channukul said the ministry would ask the cabinet to retain the LPG price pegging measure which was due to expire at the end of August, until the end of 2010 to help shouldering people’s expenditure burden.

Mr Wannarat stated that although the economy had started to recover, people still had to bear the burden of high expense. Besides the LPG, he would also ask the government to continue maintaining the price of compressed natural gas.
