Current economic uptrend as a result of higher employment rate in Q1
By k on March 14, 2010
BANGKOK, 14 March 2010 (NNT) – Thailand sees an economic uptrend due to higher employment rates in the first quarter of this year.
Speaking in his weekly talk show, “Confidence with Thailand with Prime Minister Abhisit”, the Prime Minister stated that the rate of employment during this period was on the rise or higher, compared to other years. He said such good signs on employment could benefit national economic recovery despite the Map Ta Phut issue that is hindering and causing doubts to many Japanese investors in Thailand.
Mr Abhisit said that, in the first two months of 2010, many Japanese investors had requested significant improvement on the Map Ta Phut issue. Meanwhile, corrupt actions from many agencies have been drained out, Mr Abhisit said.
Mr Abhisit admitted that the domestic political tension could tarnish investor’s confidence in Thailand in the long term while urging for peace and non-violence for the further growth of this democratic country in the global arena.
