Chocolate market expected to grow 20% this year

BANGKOK, 12 February 2010 (NNT) – The domestic chocolate market is expected to expand by 20% from last year, says Kasikorn Research Center.
KBank Research forecasted that this year the value of chocolate business in Thailand would be around 3.5-3.8 billion THB, or 20% growth compared to 2009. At present, the chocolate market is taking a 29% share of the total value of confectionary business in the country. The chocolate market has been expanding by at least 10% each year, complemented by the manufacturers’ adaptation that well satisfies the consumers’ demand. A variety of products has been developed, redesigned, and marketed continually in response to consumers’ preference in all festivals. |
