Central Food Retail plans 250 million baht to upgrade SPOT Rewards Card to rewards and sustain customers’ loyalty

BANGKOK 28 March 2013: Central Food Retail plan to invest 250 million baht for its loyalty program, SPOT Rewards Card, with new scheme of SPOT Money Back, allowing its members to collect points without minimum purchase, a faster collection of points and more convenient in exchanging the points into cash coupon. The company also introduces new technology on touch screen kiosk the first time in Thailand, this will ensure its members with the latest innovation along with other exclusive benefits in shopping will sustain loyalty among customers.

Ms. Phattaraporn Phenpraphat, Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations of Central Food Retail Company Limited, operator of leading supermarket chain branded Central Food Hall, Tops Market, Tops Super and Tops Daily, revealed that “As a leader in the CRM strategy, Central Food Retail has been activating SPOT Rewards Card campaign for 9 years. Members will benefit on 5 features; Discount (discounts on products), Personal Shopping List (special discounts on goods selected in the list), Delight (promotions and premiums), Privilege (exclusive activities) and SPOT Money Back.


We will invest 250 million baht to upgrade SPOT Money Back by collecting point without minimum purchase (1 baht equal 1 point). This will help customers earning points faster and to exchange points into cash coupon easier than before. The rewards scheme are set for convenience for those who have 2,000 points, will turn the points to 10 baht, 3,000 points turn to 20 baht, and 5,000 points turn to 50 baht.


Members are able to collect extra points of SPOT Money Back from more than 3,000 items with special points as well as collect extra points from marketing promotion campaign throughout the year. To offer maximum benefits to members, the collected points will be automatically redeems to cash coupon and will be sent to the members every 3 months; at the end of March, June, September and December.


Ms. Maytinee Phisutsinthop, Vice President CRM & Brand Marketing of Central Food Retail Company Limited, elaborated that SPOT Rewards Card campaign for this year will introduce ‘touch screen kiosk’, the latest CRM technology in Thailand, which aims at enhancing its members with personal shopping list with and exciting brand new experience of a touch screen technology so that the members are able to choose their individual benefits on their own with better joy.







To celebrate its 9 year anniversary of SPOT Rewards Card, the company will launch promotion campaign “SPOT Rewards Card 9Year Celebration to Give 99 Million Points”. For the first 2,000 highest shoppers will be rewarded with 500,000 points, 120,000 points 50,000 points and 35,000 points, respectively. During the launch members are able to earn extra points from purchasing participated items of 100 brands with additional 399 points, 999 points and 9,999 points, respectively.
