SME Bank release loans worth Bt6,200 mn to local tourism businesses

BANGKOK, 15 October 2009 (NNT) – SME Bank reveals that it has released approximately 6,200 million baht worth of loan for tourism businesses.

Mr. Wichaya Withitham, SME Bank Board Spokesperson revealed that the Bank had given loans in the range of 5 -100 million baht to 189 tourism businesses, worth a combined amount of 3,663 million baht. 112 of which had already made withdrawals worth 1,418 million baht in total. Moreover, the Bank has also approved the 5-million-baht limit loans for other 1,563 tourism businesses, worth a combined amount of 2,641 million baht.

SME Bank Board has a policy to support the tourism businesses by providing circulating fund and management know-how as well as to offer marketing opportunities. The Bank would be giving discount coupons to customers for use in hotels and restaurants which would in turn help the Bank’s SME customers to promote their businesses.
