SME Bank´s training project creates 178 new entrepreneurs with combined investment of Bt 98 million thumbnail

BANGKOK, 7 October 2009 (NNT) –The New Entrepreneurs Creation (NEC) project of the SME Bank held during July-September 2009 has successfully trained 178 people, who are now engaged in different investments worth a combined amount of 98 million baht.

SME Bank Director Mr. Soros Sakornvisva said that the outcome was beyond expectation, and the newly-created SMEs are in the position to invest more than Bt2.1 million each in their business.

He said a preliminary follow-up indicated that SME Bank and other commercial banks have already approved more than Bt190 million in loans to 38 entrepreneurs from the project.

This year, SME Bank has a policy to emphasize the quality of its entrepreneur development program, with an aim to equip them with a systematic access to financial sources. The trainees would be able to adapt proper methodology and to make a right decision for their business, thus enhancing their potentials and growth in the future, the Director explained.
