Income guarantee scheme pushes farm products

By k on November 29, 2009

BANGKOK, 29 November 2009 (NNT) – The government’s income guarantee scheme for agriculturalists can improve the prices of farm products, according to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva stated that he would preside over the money transfer ceremony for cassava growers under the farmers’ income guarantee program tomorrow at the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BACC), the Marketing Organization for Farmers Branch in Bangkok after experiencing a successful target for rice and maize farmers. He urged all relevant authorities to speedily make contracts with qualified agricuturalists in an effort to fulfill the government’s objective.

The country has currently yielded benefits from rising rice price after several nations plagued by natural disasters, in particular the People’s Republic of China, have recently showed their interests in purchasing Thailand’s rice, said the Prime Minister, adding that the the National Rice Policy Committee was considering lowering their rice stockpile without affecting the trading price.
