BANGKOK, 2 November 2009 (NNT) – The Ministry of Finance has disbursed 30 billion baht for the “Thai unity, Strong Thailand” scheme, therefore no further loans were needed to subsidize the treasury reserves, according to Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Pruttichai Damrongrat.
Dr. Pruttichai Damrongrat stated that the cabinet had approved the first allocation of 199.960 million Baht from the total of 400 billion baht, reserved in the “Thai unity, Strong Thailand” scheme to be used in 2010-2012. He also said that 30.574 billion Baht had recently been disbursed from 21 September to 23 October 2009.
The two biggest allocations went to community level investment, and the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) which had been valued in 75.038 billion Baht and 40 billion Baht respectively.
Mr Pruttichai added that loans for subsidizing the treasury reserves were deemed unnecessary as the treasury reserves were healthy and in secure condition, amounting to 293 billion Baht at the end of September, which was considered a sufficient amount to circulate in the Ministry of Finance next year.
In addition to this, the Ministry of Finance will also earn income from collecting personal income tax during the second quarter of 2010.
