BANGKOK, 15 September 2009 (NNT) – Deputy Commerce Minister Alongkorn Pollabutr said connection in business is key to success for Thai Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), adding that Thai entrepreneurs should take advantage of the ASEAN integration.
In his speech on”Open up New Market Dimension for SMEs”, the Deputy Commerce Minister said that the Cabinet had just approved a new policy to promote creative economy to push forward export of Thai ideas. He explained that to have creative thinking one needs 3 Ks: Knowledge, Know How, and Know Who.
Social Network Marketing is a new method and a part of the “know who”. Connections from online social networks could turn into a market and connection for business. He stated that in the future, people would work smart rather than work hard, by utilizing creativity, making the most out of the least resources.
To have the knowledge and know how, Mr. Alongkorn encouraged entrepreneurs to learn more about the emergence of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and the ASEAN Community. Many regulations resulting from the integration of ASEAN and its dialogue partners such as China, India, and Japan could generate huge advantage to small and medium sized businesses. By knowing more about Free Trade Agreement and other regulations, SMEs could become stronger.
