3 additional H1N1 fatalities confirmed last week in Thailand

BANGKOK, 21 October 2009 (NNT) – The Public Health Ministry declared 3 more fatalities from influenza A (H1N1) last week, pushing up the total death toll in Thailand to 173.

MD Paijit Worajit, Permanent Secretary for Public Health informed the press that there were 3 additional H1N1 flu victims while the total number of fatalities rose to 173 during the previous week. The Department of Epidemiology indicated that the flu infection still prevailed in all regions across the country, especially seven provinces, which include Phayao, Roi Et, Phuket, Suphanburi, Chachoeng Sao, Phrae and Lop Buri, where a large number of flu-suspected patients have been found.
