“Eco–Town” best solution for Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate

Bangkok 22 October, 2009- (NNT) The Deputy Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) suggested that an Eco-Industrial Town was the best solution for the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate.

He explained that an Eco-Industrial Town was designed to develop the economy and the ecology in an industrial town in a sustainable manner by encouraging public participation.

IEAT Deputy Governor, Veerapong Chaiperm advised that the government should advise the public and the private sector about the Eco-Industrial Town to solve long term environmental problem in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate.

Advisor to Islamic Communities President, Sod Salalat, cited that the government should have come up with strategies as well as prepared clear policies to handle the problems instead of seeking ways to solve them after they actually arose.

When it comes to seeking the solution he urged every sector to be sincere to local residents.

Rayong Lawyer Council Committee and Secretary, Manit Lekloong suggested that the government discuss with every sector to find the best solution which satisfactorily meets the need of all sides.
